Glossary

Addressable — an entity type whose records may be reached at their own address, even when the type is not publicly listed. A product variation is the example: linkable, not browsable.

Block — a piece of page furniture placed into a region: a menu, a listing, authored content, a media item.

Bundle — a kind of record within an entity: a content type is a bundle, and so is a vocabulary.

Composite — an entity type whose records are parts of other records rather than pages of their own.

Content type — a described kind of record. It gets a form, an address, revisions, permissions and translations because it is a type, not because anyone wrote them.

Display — one way a type is rendered: a full page, a teaser in a listing, a card in a grid.

Embeddable — may be placed inside another page.

Entity — the underlying thing a bundle belongs to: content, taxonomy, media, users.

Field — what a record holds. Its settings live in three places: what it is, how it is edited, how it renders.

Formatter — how a stored value reads on the page.

Group (vocabulary) — a label saying which agenda a vocabulary belongs to. With thirty vocabularies it is the difference between a readable list and a search.

Listing (view) — a definition that answers a question about records and renders the answer as a page, block, table, feed, calendar or board.

Organization — a firm. The boundary every other feature respects.

Path filter — a listing filter whose value comes from the address, so one listing serves many pages.

Portal access — a customer's contact who can sign in. A third kind of identity, never a member of your organization.

Public — an entity type whose records may appear in public listings. Distinct from addressable.

Publication stamp — the mark that makes a published record actually visible. Published without it means invisible everywhere.

Site — a website belonging to an organization, with its own host names.

Sourcebook — the documentation engine: documentation written in a git repository, pulled into the platform, still buildable by MkDocs and Docusaurus.

Term — an entry in a vocabulary. A record with fields and an address of its own, not merely a label.

Token — a placeholder resolved at render time, used in addresses, templates and meta tags.

Variation — the thing a customer actually buys. Carries the SKU, the price and the stock.

Vocabulary — a list of terms. Behaves like a content type: fields, displays, revisions, translations.
